Alessia Cara

The singer released her debut single Here in 2015 when she was 19. The track received praise by music critics as well as listeners. The Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it as 19. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's Best Songs. In that same year she released her debut album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks which peaked on the Billboard charts. This includes The Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. The song was particularly memorable due to her interview with the Rap-Up show, many fans related to her journey of self-doubt, and her journey to learn how to love herself. Cara is known for including messages on mental health, kindness and self-love into her music. She has been struggling with anxiety and insomnia, both of which has influenced her music. According to an Reuters interview, she described her album as half-tumultuous and half perfected. Therapy helped her grow and encourages other people to seek help if necessary. When she was 13she began covering songs she adored on YouTube to prove to people that she had talent and had the courage to pursue a career as a musician.
