With her personal highlights so far including getting hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to be his guest onstage at the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee has maintained her songwriting regimen despite the hectic recent times. Now a magnet for up-and-coming producers, she regularly combs through beats she receives and discovers that a lot of them end up sparking song ideas. In just five seconds, I'm able to tell the quality of a song or not. I then get an idea for an original song, and start writing the lyrics immediately. When I am playing my guitar outside on my porch the words begin to flow. A majority often, I'm done in thirty minutes. The pain of Niykee's childhood can be a constant source of inspiration as she develops as an author. Even when I'm not writing literally about things that have occurred to me, the hurt of growing up and the loss of my sister end up getting pushed into my songs, she states. The memories influence my songs and helps to create this greater understanding behind all things that's among the most significant things to me--I need to know that I'll be able to listen to any of my songs 20 years later and feel proud of the things I said.
