Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was born in Epsom (Surrey) as the daughter Josephine Ormond, who works as a laboratory technician and John Ormond. Ormond is the second of five children to her parents. She first attended Guildford High School and then Cranleigh School. There, her initial lead performances in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady were noticed. After a year in arts school, she transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art which she attended until 1988. Ormond first appeared on British TV in 1989's series Traffik. The show was focused on the illicit heroin trade that was thriving from the Far East to Europe. Ormond was the addicted daughter of the main character, who was a Home Office minister in the UK government that was involved in fighting heroin importation. The role was Ormond's debut and received a fawning review.
